Unlike every other Amazon, this build uses the highest block shield and a good one-handed weapon, even if it isn’t a javelin. They will easily have a 50%+ chance to stop damage altogether and can distract enemies. Tank Amazon: This style of Amazon forsakes most attack options and instead quickly invests in Dodge, Avoid, Evade, and Valkyrie. More importantly, using a two-handed weapon means they are a frontline warrior who will get hit much more often than a shield bearer. This gives strong base damage, but having only physical and lightning attacks can make Hell difficulty much harder. A large part of the Javelin and Spear tree is inaccessible, leaving the Spear Amazon to rely on Jab, Fend, Charge Strike, and Lightning Strike. Spear Amazon: Amazons have the option of specializing in spears, which have slightly more reach but are slower compared to other two-handed weapons. This tends to either be a low block rate, low damage, or speed issues that can compound due to latency. Compared to the two melee-focused classes, both Amazon and Assassin have glaring disadvantages up close. While not as beefy as Barbarians or protective like Paladins, both the Amazon and Assassin have options to fight at close range.
